Manners?

Trenton: Wow Mom, your tummy is getting really fat.
Me: It's not polite to tell people they are fat. Try saying, Mom, your baby belly is getting big.
Trenton: Wow, Mom, your baby belly is getting really really big. It's kind of getting fat.
This is where I give him my very best mom/teacher look.
Trenton: Oops! I didn't mean to say fat. I said the wrong word. Your baby belly is getting bigger and bigger.
Me: I know. Thanks.

4 Dogs, a cat, 5 people, and a partridge in a pear tree

Kelly and Tommy arrived a few days ago and as always Trenton is having a great time. They did call to let us know they now have 3 dogs instead of 2. Did I mention that the newest addition is a 2 month old puppy named Sixx Gun? Oh yes, they neamed her after a song. We are pleased they are naming dogs and not children. Although it's a little crazy in our house, we are enjoying their company and looking forward to Christmas morning.

Big News!

Christmas card 2009. What a way to spread the big news!
Baby Nicholson December 14, 2009. Baby looks good and is growing rapidly. What a blessing!

It's official! Trenton is going to be a big brother and he is soooo excited. We let him tell all our family about the BIG surprise. He said, "We have a surprise. There's a baby in my mommy's tummy". No one was sure whether they should believe a three year old but we did confirm he was telling the truth. Ever since the big news, at least once a day he asks if my tummy is bigger yet. He makes me laugh.
We had this conversation a few mornings ago.
Trenton: "When the baby comes someone will get to be a big brother."
Me: "You're right do you know who the big brother will be?"
Trenton: "No, who?"
Me: "You get to be the big brother!"
Trenton: "I do?! That is so exciting!"

He's been asking for a brother or sister for a year now and it is finally going to happen. Now the struggle will be for him to wait all the way until July.

Halloween 2009

Trenton's been saying for months that he wanted to be a red eye tree frog. Thankfully the costume existed so I didn't have to attemot to make one which would have been a disaster. He loved wearing the costume and had a great time trick or treating. The worst part was having to take away all the candy with peanuts which turned out to be quite a bit!
Our friends, Mr. Skeleton Man, Cinderella and of course the red eyed tree frog.

The princess and her frog.
Tori looking amazing in her costume.
Who said I can't be a tree frog too?

The end of the summer fun!

Trenton and others playing in the water at Settlers Park.
Debra liked it too!

Cheese!
My boy sometimes thinks he too is a dog. Pretending is his favorite game.
My cutie pies!

Me: What is your full name.
My boy: Trenton NicholAlanson
Me: Repeat after me...Trenton Alan Nicholson
My boy: Trenton NicholAlanson

I think he get's it but now it's a joke and a pretty clever one at that!

Spelling

Why is it that try as we may Trenton refuses to learn from us? We have been trying to help him learn to spell his name. I made up 3 different songs. He wasn't interested. The other day I heard him spelling.
Me: Trenton, are you spelling?
Trenton: Yeah, T-R-E-N-T-O-N, T-R-E-N-T-O-N
Me: Wow! Where did you learn to spell your name?
Trenton: Miss Jenn taught me at school.
I wanted to remind him that I am a teacher but don't think he'd care. Way to go Miss Jenn. We're so glad he'll learn from you.

Surgery #2

Now there's a smile pre-surgery and a thumbs up!

So, here we are at the St. Luke's surgery center to make the hole on the tip of Trenton's penis longer. We thought the boy just got amazing height and distance when he peed but it turns out the hole isn't big enough and that's why he has to sit when he pees (or it hits the ceiling). Who knew?
Nurse Beth listening to his lungs before surgery.

Not too happy about all this. Just remember, no IV's this time and that is a great thing!

There's a smile!
Everything went fine and we are now home. He'll feel under the weather for the next few days but is excited because he already peed standing up and it was a Huge Success! Way to go Dr. Saperston! Thank goodness for specialists in the medical field who know what they are doing!

Frist day of Pre-school

I have new Sketchers. Now I need a skateboard! Did I mention they are size 11? The boy has huge feet for being 3.
Crazy hair day at school.
Running off to the bus...Oh wait. I don't ride the bus.

My new backpack, flat hair like my friend William, and a smile. I am ready to meet Miss Cindy and my new friends.
Cheese!
